This is a small 'about me' kind of set-up. Nothing too in-depth, but enough to get a general idea of who I am and what I'm aiming for.
First off, this is my face:

After spending the best part of a decade wanting to be a music/alternative lifestyle journalist, it sucks that I'm doing nothing but beep-beep-beeping peoples' shopping through Tesco tills every day. This blog is to get me back into the world of writing and, hopefully one day, reviewing.

I went to University in Leeds and ran a successful music blog while I lived there covering bands' live reviews, album reviews and interviews, as well as pieces rooted in the alternative fashion and lifestyle areas. With live music right on my doorstep and some savvy networking skills I managed to cover a lot of ground and my MySpace-hosted blog was regularly read by a large number of people.

My writing has been used for bands' websites, on music review websites, I've been published in both Bizarre Magazine and Front Magazine and the previous editor of Kerrang! magazine offered me a great deal of help as well.
In 2009 I had to leave Leeds due to illness and have been stuck ever since. Gigs are inaccessible, which drives me crazy, but I am still confident in my abilities.  During the later part of my time in Leeds I started branching out and developing within the world of writing opinion pieces and longer articles, which is where I'm still progressing today. It's taken me a long time to get back into writing because of feeling like I'd let go of my dream three years ago.

I would still love to progress into the music/alternative areas of journalism. If it never happens, at least I have this blog to showcase my thoughts, musings and rants to the world.
But 'never' seems very final, let's never say never.
